FLORIN Paul Serban has indicated guilty pleas to nine motoring charges arising from two separate incidents in Banbridge, with final sentencing deferred until December.

Serban, 19, of Edenderry Park, Banbridge, was dealt with at Banbridge Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Newry Courthouse, on November 5.

The first case relates to an incident on June 1, 2026, when he was accused of using a Volkswagen Golf on Newry Road without a valid MOT or insurance, as well as using a vehicle which emitted excessive smoke.

The second case concerns an incident on Rathfriland Street on February 16, 2026. The charges include driving without displaying R plates, using a vehicle without insurance, careless driving, obstructing a police officer and failing to remain at the scene and report an accident.

His solicitor advised the court that Serban wished to plead guilty to all charges. The court was told he was currently in Romania and expected to return on November 26.

Serban was described as unemployed and in receipt of Universal Credit. The matter was adjourned until December 3 for an interim disposal, with the court requiring him to attend in person for final sentencing.
