Warrenpoint Golf Club's Senior Cup team finish runners-up in European Men's Club Trophy

The team's achievement is all the more remarkable given that every player is a local lad who has come through the ranks at Warrenpoint Golf Club, balancing their passion for golf with jobs, families and everyday commitments.
WARRENPOINT Golf Club is celebrating an incredible golfing achievement after its Senior Cup team, having secured the All-Ireland Senior Cup title earlier this year, went on to represent both Warrenpoint and Ireland at the European Men’s Club Trophy in Bordeaux, France, where they finished a remarkable second place.
The team’s journey to Europe began with their success in the All-Ireland finals, where they emerged victorious to become All-Ireland Senior Cup Champions. This achievement earned them the honour of representing Ireland against some of the best club teams in Europe.
The European competition proved to be a fantastic test of golf, with Warrenpoint producing a combined score of two over par across the tournament's three rounds. In an exceptionally strong field, the winning team produced a phenomenal nine under par total, finishing seven shots ahead of Warrenpoint.
While the winning team's performance was exceptional, Warrenpoint's achievement in finishing second in Europe is something truly special and a testament to the quality, determination and commitment of the players.
There was also outstanding individual success, with Stephen Coulter finishing an impressive fourth place, while Colm Campbell and Paul Reavey both secured tied fifth place in the individual standings. A fantastic achievement for all three players competing against some of Europe's finest amateur golfers.
What makes this success even more special is the story behind the team. Every player is a local lad who has come through the ranks at Warrenpoint Golf Club, developing their game through the club's junior and competitive golfing structures. Away from the golf course, these players all balance their passion for the game with jobs, families and everyday commitments. Their ability to compete at such an exceptional level while managing busy lives away from golf makes this achievement all the more remarkable
